From a school nurse's dry, cracked hands to a small-batch goat milk soap ranch — this is how Mangum Ranch came to be.
I'm a retired school nurse. I loved being a school nurse, but it absolutely drained me — physically, mentally, and emotionally. When COVID-19 hit, I knew it was time for me to come home and spend more time with my goats and chickens, where I was loved and appreciated. So, after 21 years, I retired. It was a hard decision to make, but I have confirmation that it was the right choice! My goats bring me lots of joy and a little frustration, but I soon realized that they are the therapy that I didn't know I needed.
I also realized they needed to start earning their keep around here. So I decided to try making goat milk soap. I have been making goat milk soap since 2022. What started as a hobby became a passion — and an addiction. I wanted to learn something new, creative, and resourceful, and I also wanted to find natural, handmade skincare for my dry, cracked hands. Being a nurse is hard on your hands. Mine would split open and bleed.
After using my handmade goat milk soap for the very first time, I knew it was different than anything I'd used before. My skin didn't feel dry and itchy right out of the shower — it felt soft, smooth, and moisturized. I told my family and friends, and after their first use, they were hooked too.
So if you're looking for a natural solution to help with dry, itchy, broken skin, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, acne breakouts, or a little help with wrinkles — I hope our goat milk products bring you the same relief they've brought me and my family.
